A few people have asked. “What does Infant Massage have to do with aromatherapy?”
When my son Josh and I came up with the name Essential Health, we envisioned an institute where people could learn about more than essential oils. As many of you know, essential oils are a huge part of this company. However, I am a holistic nurse and I believe it is important to offer people many natural options they could integrate into their life.
As a Birth Center staff nurse, I read a few articles on the benefits of infant massage. I signed up for an Infant Massage Instructor certification course. It has been very rewarding to help parents learn techniques that help them better understand their baby’s cues, decrease gas pains, and help their baby relax and sleep better.
I created these videos years ago. Imagine my surprise last summer when I found them on YouTube to link to my website and realized the Intro video had more than 70,000 views!
Regarding my opening question, I wouldn’t recommend using essential oils on an infant. There are much safer plant-based options for babies and young children. The connection between the two is that both aromatherapy and infant massage are wonderful, holistic ways we can promote health and well-being. I hope you enjoy the videos and recommend them to anyone who might benefit.
